He pointed out that China has its own favorable conditions for developing small wind power. China is a large producer of small wind turbines, with production, research and development and promotion of its own technology, wind power equipment specifications are relatively complete, performance is more reliable; With many years of application basis, the scale of industrial production has been basically formed, and the wind power resources are rich. But there are challenges. Because China''s market competition tends to low-price competition eventually, the profits of enterprises decline, and even the loss of profits cry out, the development of enterprises is weak; It is overwhelmed by wind power in terms of scale efficiency, and it is not equal to photovoltaic in terms of reliability. There is also a lack of bright spots to attract inward investment.

The "2011 Small Wind Turbine International Forum" co-sponsored by the International Alliance for Rural Electrification, Beijing Link Consulting Co., LTD., and "Wind Energy Equipment" magazine was successfully held in Beijing on February 25. Small wind power scholars, experts and entrepreneurs from China, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Turkey and other countries discussed the current situation and prospects of small wind power development, as well as international cooperation opportunities through keynote speeches and interactive dialogues.

Professor Liu Xiongwei from the University of Central Lancashire in the UK introduced the development of small wind power markets in the UK and Europe. There are over 20 small wind turbine manufacturers in the UK, and the market share of local small wind turbine manufacturers has decreased from 85% in 2008 to 75% in 2009. He believes that the UK will become the leader in the future small wind power market in Europe. It is reported that the small wind turbine enterprises currently selling in the European market mainly come from the United States, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and China.

Du Zhijie, head of the research group of the National Energy Administration /REEEP China Small Wind Energy Industry Roadmap and Policy Recommendations, predicts that by 2020 domestic sales of small wind turbines will reach 6,590 MW and exports will reach 4,390 MW. With reference to the development of foreign countries, the steady growth rate of China''s small wind power industry will remain at around 35%, and with strong policy support, the annual growth rate of 55% is possible.

The Forum initiated the establishment of the "Global Small and medium wind Power Industry Alliance", which aims to gather small and medium wind power stakeholders around the world and promote global cooperation.
