Abstract from Chinese New energy Network

On July 21st, the National Energy Administration held a press conference in Beijing. Zhu Ming, Director of the New and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, stated that in the first half of this year, China''s renewable energy industry entered a new stage of large-scale development, and the problems of water, wind, and light waste have significantly improved.

The installed capacity of renewable energy generation exceeded 600 million kilowatts.

"In the first half of the year, China''s hydropower installed capacity reached 338 million kilowatts, wind power installed capacity reached 154 million kilowatts, photovoltaic power installed capacity reached 102 million kilowatts, biomass power installed capacity reached 13.3 million kilowatts, and all kinds of renewable energy power generation installed capacity of 37 million kilowatts, accounting for about 70% of all new power installed capacity. This shows that China''s energy structure adjustment speed has been further accelerated, renewable energy has entered a new stage of large-scale development. At present, China''s installed capacity of hydropower, wind power and photovoltaic power generation has ranked first in the world."

The problem of abandoning water, wind and light has been significantly improved.

Alleviating the problem of water, wind, and light waste is a key task included in this year''s Government Work Report. In the first half of the year, the National Energy Administration made solving this problem one of the important tasks of energy work. In conjunction with relevant regional energy regulatory departments and power grid enterprises, a series of targeted measures were taken to promote the significant improvement of water, wind, and light waste. In the first half of the year, the wind and light waste rates decreased by 7 percentage points and 4.5 percentage points respectively.

Major renewable energy projects were advanced in an orderly manner.

"The construction of landmark hydropower stations such as Wudongde on the Jinsha River, Yebatan, and Taoba on the Lancang River is being stepped up, and large wind power bases such as Ximeng, North Shanxi, Zhangjiakou and photovoltaic leader bases are actively promoted, and the Datong base of the first group of leader bases has been completed and put into operation." In addition, new business forms such as various microgrids and photovoltaic + characteristic industries are booming. The orderly progress of major renewable energy projects has played an important role in accelerating the structural reform of the energy supply side, stabilizing growth, adjusting the structure and strengthening weak spots."
