China and the EU work together to promote green electricity consumption

    On May 16, 2017, the "China EU Clean Energy Transformation Partnership Roundtable" hosted by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China of China and hosted by Vestas was successfully held in Beijing. In recent years, the energy exchange and cooperation mechanism between China and Europe has been continuously improved, jointly issuing the "Joint Declaration on Urbanization Partnership between China and Europe", "Joint Declaration on Energy Security between China and Europe", and "Joint Declaration on Promoting Cooperation in the Electricity Market between China and Europe", announcing the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Europe as energy consuming countries. China and Europe will further strengthen cooperation in energy transformation and green electricity consumption, achieve energy transformation and upgrading, and jointly address the challenges of energy, environment, and climate change.

    Vestas stated that as a pioneer in the global wind power industry, Vestas has always been committed to the development of green energy. As early as 2011, Vestas, together with the Global Wind Energy Association, World Wide Fund for Nature and The Lego Group, launched WindMade to establish the evaluation criteria for green power consumption and evaluate the level of green power consumption. Vestas hopes to bring the successful experience of foreign countries in the field of green power consumption to China, providing reference for the sustainable development of renewable energy in China.

    In the China-Eu green energy Power consumption partnership discussion session, Air Liquide Group said that Air Liquide has been in China since 1916, and now has nearly 90 factories in China, and electricity accounts for a large part of the cost of production. In order to reflect the concept of green development, Air Liquide plans to use more green electricity in its production process and requires its suppliers to achieve green electricity manufacturing. In order to better participate in China''s green electricity consumption activities, Vestas and Air Liquide have announced to join the Green electricity Consumption Cooperation Organization.

    The Green Power Consumption Cooperation Organization, which has attracted the attention of European enterprises, was initiated by the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, the General Institute of Hydropower and Water Resources Planning and Design, the National Renewable Energy Center, the Renewable Energy Special Committee of the Chinese Society for Circular Economy, the Energy Foundation, the World Resources Research Institute, the World Wide Fund for Nature, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and other associations and NGOs. The Green Power Consumption Cooperation Organization will integrate industrial and social resources, jointly advocate and promote green power consumption, and awaken awareness of green power consumption; Establish a green electricity consumption evaluation and labeling system to enhance the economic value and market competitiveness of green electricity; Continuously carry out research on policies and measures to promote green electricity consumption, and promote the implementation of green electricity consumption policies.

    According to the preparatory group of the green Power Consumption Cooperation Organization, through the early preparation, nearly 50 enterprises have announced to join, including green power developers such as Three Gorges, Huadian, Datang, and Beikong, as well as equipment manufacturing enterprises such as BAIC, SAIC, BYD, Goldwind, Mingyang, Vision, GCL, Artez, and Longji. As well as multinational companies such as Vestas, Johnson Controls, IBM, and Air Liquide, the partnership will be formally launched at the Clean Energy Ministerial meeting in June. After its establishment, on the one hand, it will carry out publicity through various channels to let more enterprises and individuals accept green electricity, and at the same time publicize the members of the organization to fulfill their good social responsibilities. On the other hand, it will carry out green electricity consumption evaluation, evaluate the proportion of green electricity consumed by enterprises, products and activities, and issue green electricity consumption labels.
