Release time:2015-06-05   Click:76

A study conducted by the Energy Department of the European Commission has shown that wind and hydropower are more economically efficient than other renewable energy sources. Without considering the market and technical risks, the Energy Division compared the Unit cost of wind power, hydropower, nuclear power, photovoltaic power generation and other energy sources (during the project operation period), and found that the cost of hydropower per megawatt hour was 50 euros, wind power was more than 80 euros, while the cost of nuclear power was 110 euros, and photovoltaic power generation, biomass power generation and natural gas power generation reached 115 euros.

According to the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), the release of the above data is in line with a plan called "Support Wind Energy", one of the purposes of which is to convince everyone that wind and hydropower can also create more benefits.

The European Commission study also shows that Denmark, Spain, Germany, Italy and the European Union are the countries and regions with the highest share of renewable energy in the world, and there is a clear shift towards clean energy around the world.
